Self-improvement book

Why write it?

Since 2011 I have dedicated myself full time to the process of writing the definitive self improvement book.  My aim is to provide the most comprehensive book on the subject which enables people to:

  • become a better person
  • live a more fulfilled life
  • have more wealth
  • have better friendships
  • have greater connections
  • have the sense of permanent well being
  • be strong, fit and free from illness and stress

I believe there is a massive gap in the market, with too many concentrating on one or two little subjects which in turn might make a good read but doesn’t do much to transform lives.  The book is a combination of drawing experiences from my personal life and business experiences as well as totally immersing myself into the field.

To write the best book possible and to also be able to justify my teachings, I wanted to make sure that I was fully educated on all the subject matters out there and embarked on an extensive learning curve.  To read, research and understand every single major person and philosophy in the field.

Although every word is my own and I believe and preach every different idea and subject, I have learnt a lot from some great people and topics including, in no particular order:

The study of NLP, CBT, Hypnotherapy, Psychology and Veganism.

The books, videos and teachings of Richard Bandler, Tony Robbins, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Milton Erickson, Stephen Covey, Michael Neill, Dale Canegie, Susan Jeffers, Richard Templar, Jim Rohn, Eckhart Tolle, Rhonda Byrne, Brian Tracy, Louise Hay, Malcolm Gladwell and Warren Buffett.

The philosophies of Yoga and Meditation.

Although I fully respect and value a lot of these people, what was evident to me was they only told part of the story.  No single one teacher or subject encapsulated it all and that is exactly what I believe I am doing.

As well as reading and research, I have also prepared myself educationally and have achieved a number of formal qualifications including NLP Practitioner, Psychology Diploma NCFE Level 3 (Distinction), Sports Nutrition Diploma NCFE Level 3 (Distinction), Advanced Anatomy and Physiology NCFE Level 4 (Distinction), and I am still currently studying an Instructor Diploma, Life Skills Coaching Diploma, Yoga Teacher Diploma and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

As well as some great teachers that I have studied, there have also been literally thousands of books that I have read.  Across this time I have been using myself as the first test subject and have created a number of amazing lasting changes to my life.  I have transformed my body from being overweight and unhealthy at around 17 stone to a slim and healthy 13 stone (I am 6ft 3in).  I practise Yoga every day and I keep fit by strength exercises and running and can now complete a 5k in just over 20 minutes and 10k comfortably under the 50 minute market.

I am now strong fit and healthy. I am a better father, son and husband and I live a far happier and peaceful life.
